Of course, most kids and even adults enjoyed radio controlled boats as toys and as a hobby. Like trucks, radio controlled boats also give you the feeling of having power and control, as if you are sailing your own boat.

Electric boats are controlled using a hand-held controller powered up by rechargeable batteries. Most radio controlled types of boats come with an AC charger, batteries that rechargeable, transmitter, and batteries for the transmitter.

In some cases, you are also provided with a display stand for the boat, in case you want to show your boat off. Who does not want to take pride of one’s hobby? Especially if it is accompanied by trophies of competitions won.

Most radio controlled boats can be powered 300 feet away from you. Speed also differs from as slow as 5 mph up to as fast as 40 mph. This gives you lots of opportunities for great exciting races over the weekends. Even weekdays!

A lot of toy boats sail in a 20-minute estimated run, on a single charging of batteries. However, the duration of course differs from one model to another. The more advanced the model, the longer the boat can run. That is why model is always a factor in choosing your radio controlled boats.

Prior to purchasing your radio controlled types of boats, make sure that you look at your design style and boat size options. There are people who want their electric boats as realistically looking as possible. Others go for the naval design styles such as destroyers, even submarines. Some people want their radio controlled types of boats to be pirate ships. Some may even look for a yacht. Make sure that you buy the design style and boat size you would like, and you would be most likely feel comfortable maneuvering and controlling. This could be an advantage when competing on a weekend race.

Moreover, keep in mind that the bigger an electric boat is, the more expensive it gets.

In addition to model, design style, and boat size, speed is another factor to consider when buying your radio controlled boat. Like bigger boats, faster radio controlled boats would cost more than average speeders. If it is your first time to buy, it would be better to stay with average running electric boats for a very high speed electric boat would be more complicated to handle.

The good news is, you can always customize your boat depending on your taste and budget.
